UK Event: NVCF NEC 28th September

Hi all,
I'm sure all the UK audio enthusiasts know, but here's a reminder anyway!

Don't forget the National Vintage Communications Fair will be on at the NEC on the 28th September (which as usual also clashes with the Heathrow Hi-Fi show).

Occasionaly the odd bit of Vitavox pops up, but its well worth a trip just to rummage anyway!

Well the fair has been and gone and I think it was well worth the trip.

There was the best selection of Vitavox parts I've ever seen at this event. Even after the early morning rush had been and gone I still saw a single S3 on an RH330, a GP1 on a rusty 550/311 (for ?75), and a collection of parts suitable for making a killer system for ?900 - a pair of AK151's, CN232 crossovers, 220/531's and some non Vitavox (but S threaded) compression drivers (I didn't see these and can't remember the name the seller mentioned I'm afraid).

I got away lightly without buying anything expensive although I could easily have been tempted by the collection of parts above!

Hi Guy,
I went to the Hi-Fi show too (on the trade day) and was rather disappointed compared to previous years (I've been going since the mid eighties).

The event was the smallest for years and lacked a lot of the quirkier imported products that are always nice to see, plus some of my home grown favorites were missing too (LV, Border Patrol, Thomas Transducers and so on).

There were two or three systems making a pleasant noise but nothing life changing. 47 Labs were one of them (minimalist Hi-Fi in the extreme!). Particularly impressive sound considering there was no valves, vinyl or horns in sight! [img]graemlins/thinking.gif[/img]
